Dr. Omar Saeed

Dr. Omar Saeed graduated from medical school in Pakistan after which he pursued his interest in the field of medicine focusing on neurology and cerebrovascular disease. He was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Adnan Qureshi at the Zeenat Qureshi Stroke Institute where he worked as a clinical research fellow before starting residency training.

His main interests were stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and neuroimaging among others. During his time at the stroke institute, Dr. Saeed co-authored several scientific publications in prestigious journals including Journal of Neurosurgery, Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease, Journal of Neuroimaging, and Journal of Vascular and Interventional Neurology. He was also given the opportunity to present at both national and international forums including the International Stroke Conference, American Academy of Neurology, World Stroke Congress, The World Masters China Tour, and the Neuro Interventional International Forum.

Dr. Saeed has also co-authored several books focusing on pandemics in the past decade including Ebola virus, Zika virus, Dengue virus, and more recently Coronavirus disease with Dr. Adnan Qureshi. Furthermore, Dr. Saeed has co-authored numerous research abstracts which have been accepted to both the International Stroke Conference and the American Academy of Neurology Conference.

He completed his neurology residency from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and his vascular neurology fellowship training from the same institution. He has joined Mary Washington Hospital in Virginia as a vascular neurologist, neurohospitalist, and stroke medical director, and has served as Associate Professor of Neurology and Vascular Neurologist at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Residency training honors and awards include the Golden Apple Award for Neurology Resident 2021, Outstanding Teaching to Medical Students Award 2021, and Resident Research Scholar of the Year 2019-2020.
