Dr. Jose Navarro

ZQSI collaborates with the Brain Center of the Philippines, Stroke Services, and Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center

Dr. Jose Navarro is a dedicated neurologist associated with the Brain Center of the Philippines, Stroke Services, at the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center. His commitment to advancing stroke care and research is evident from his active collaborations and initiatives.

“On May 21, 2021, I had the privilege of attending a virtual lecture by Prof. Adnan Qureshi titled ‘Perihematomal Edema: a long history of research and therapeutic progress.’ This lecture was not only enlightening but also opened doors to further collaboration. Intrigued by the work of the Zeenat Qureshi Stroke Institute (ZQSI), we reached out to Prof. Qureshi to explore potential collaborative opportunities. Our efforts bore fruit on June 3, 2021, when our institution and ZQSI signed a Memorandum of Agreement. This collaboration was marked by a seminar on Neurosonology, featuring both local and international speakers. Since then, our association with ZQSI has been fruitful. We have co-published articles and co-authored with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Intracerebral Hemorrhage (JR NICHE ZQSI). Our current endeavors include a clinical trial on the use of cilostazol for preventing vasospasm post-subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a ruptured aneurysm and a systematic review on Ultrasonography utilization. With the active involvement of stroke specialists at our center, we are optimistic about future collaborations with ZQSI, including a potential exchange program among consultant staff.”

Dr. Navarro's unwavering dedication to research and his contributions to the field of neurology make him a notable figure in the medical community.
